Antonio Puerta

I went to Spain this past summer for a few months and while there, adopted a Spanish soccer team (meaning, I went from never having watched a professional soccer game to rooting for a certain team).  I basically just picked the team that my friend Dany followed – Sevilla.

I was talking to Dany a few days ago, and he told me that recently, a young (very young) “futbol” player died due to some sort of heart failure.  It is a very sad story.  He was 22 years old, married, and his wife is pregnant.  To honor Antonio, thousands of people gathered at the arena to pay their respects.  Dany sent me a couple photos – one of the  and one of Antonio – which I put below.

If you can read Spanish at all, there’s an article about his death here.

I Go To Sleep

As part of my personality, whenever I get stressed, I go to sleep.  That said, as excited as I am about the wedding coming up in just a few days, there is nothing I would like to do more right now than fall asleep for five days and wake up in time to walk down the aisle.

I just have to keep thinking that Wednesday will be like a Friday for me, as I have taken Thursday and Friday off.  I can just look forward to Anna coming into town on Wednesday night, chillin’ in Cle-vegas on Thursday, eating like a queen on Friday night, and marrying my super-fly fiance on Saturday.  (Did I mention the eight-night cruise to Mexico starting on Sunday???)

By the way, just for everyone’s information, my Spanish friends spit at the idea of me going to Mexico for my honeymoon.  Sorry, guys!  Spain comes later!

And now, where was I?  Oh yes…sleep…..
